Required Dress Code and Studio Requirements

The following list is a guide to assist you in the attire needed for each class offered at STDC.

Creative Movement: Black or pink scoop neck leotard with a cap sleeve, pink footless tights. No skirts allowed unless they are attached to the leotard. Shoes are not worn in this class.

Mommy and Me: Adults and children - comfortable clothing and barefoot

Ballet: All ballet classes wear black leotards, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Each ballet level requires a different style of leotard. The leotards purchased at Black and Pink Dance Supplies will have "South Tulsa Dance Co." monogrammed on the front of the leotard.

Ballet/Tap: Black or ballet pink scoop neck leotard with a cap sleeve. Skirt attached or no skirt.

Ballet/Jazz: Black or ballet pink scoop neck leotard with a cap sleeve. Skirt attached or no skirt. Dance pants allowed.

Ballet 1: Black or pink tank leotard. Skirts are optional.

Ballet 2-Teen Ballet: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes or pointe shoes (to be approved by Director of Ballet), skirts optional. Shorts are not allowed.

Jazz: Black dance pants or capri pants. Black leotard or tank can have design on it. Tan jazz shoes, preferably slip on jazz shoes. Any STDC shirt or tank top is allowed in class.

Tap: Black dance pants or capri pants. Black leotard or tank can have design on it. Black tap shoes, preferably Leo’s slip ons. Any STDC shirt or tank top is allowed in class.

Lyrical: Comfortable dance clothing, no street clothes. Tan jazz shoes required but you may also wear foot paws.

Hip Hop: Comfortable dance clothing, no jeans. Black hip hop sneakers. Level 1,2,3 must have the black hip hop sneaker with ties. Teen hip hop can have any style hip hop sneaker. NO Nike’s, Converse, etc allowed in class at any time. STREET SHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Lil Idols: Black dance skirt, pants, or capris. Any color leotard or dance top. Tan jazz shoes.

Musical Theater: Black dance skirt, pants, or capris. Any color leotard or dance top. Tan jazz shoes.

Adult classes: Comfortable attire and appropriate shoes.

Other Studio Requirements:

Ballet students must have hair in a bun or tight ponytail with bangs bobby pinned away from the face.

Do not wear your dance shoes from the car in the studio. The dirt and gravel will ruin the floor.

No gum chewing allowed in STDC.

No food or drinks allowed in STDC unless you are siting at the front lobby table. Water bottles are OK. This policy will be strictly enforced and dancers or parents will be asked to throw away any coffee, pop, food, or gum that does not stay in the front lobby.

Candy given away after class must be eaten outside or in the car. It is not allowed to be eaten in STDC.

No running or yelling in the hallways at any time.

DO not stand on the furniture. Children will fall and can be hurt badly.
